Christina Hale Endorsed by AFSCME Council 962
Indianapolis, IN – Today the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Council 962 announced their endorsement of Christina Hale for Indiana’s 5th Congressional District
"The time is right for us to have a candidate with a heart for labor and working families across the country,” said Steve Quick, President of Local 725 & International Vice President. “AFSCME backed Ms. Hale before as part of John Gregg's ticket for governor. We believe she is a strong candidate and is the right choice for the 5th District."
"We're proud to endorse Christina Hale in her campaign for Indiana's Fifth Congressional District," said Ron Richmond, AFSCME Council 962 Political Director. "Our country needs leaders in government who are champions of working people, and who understand the important role workers play in rebuilding our state’s working class. We know Ms. Hale is that kind of leader."
“I’m honored to have the endorsement of the hardworking members of AFSCME Council 962,” said Christina Hale. “These workers are on the front lines of an unprecedented public health crisis, and we must ensure they have adequate funding and resources to do their jobs. I’m running for Congress because I’ve spent my career fighting for Hoosier workers and families, and I will continue doing just that when I’m elected.”
Hale’s campaign also has the support of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen Indiana State Legislative Board, Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters, International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 374, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 481, International Union of Operating Engineers Local 103, Indiana Laborers’ District Council, SMART Indiana State Legislative Board, Teamsters Local Union 135, United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 700, and United Steelworkers District 7.
